OBAN MAP REVERSE

Seafood Capital of Scotland

Whether it's seafood, whisky, chocolate or ice cream, our larder is overflowing with delectable edibles!

Oban IS the 'Seafood Capital of Scotland,' so you will find some of the finest seafood in the world here. The secret is the cold, pristine waters that offer up a huge variety of top-quality fish and shellfish, including oysters, mussels, langoustines, prawns, scallops, crab, mackerel, haddock, herring and squat lobster.

The best way to enjoy this bounty is at the source, fresh from the local fisherman and prepared simply, to let nature’s taste shine through.

Seafood isn’t for everyone, but there are plenty of other goodies to experience. Award-winning restaurants and pubs serve Argyll venison, beef, duck and lamb, in addition to seafood. Varieties of cheese, preserves, fresh produce and smoked goodies round out the quality menu available here.

And there’s something special about the whisky produced in Oban, the pure water, the pristine environment and the smoky peat combine with skills that have been passed down through the generations to produce world-class beverages.

From fish and chips on the pier to a Michelin-listed restaurant meal with a view, there is something for everyone’s taste in Oban!
