Cruise into 2019 with St Hilda Sea Adventures

Jan 31, 2019

Since Stone Age humans made their way here in skin-covered boats called curraghs, the seas off Scotland’s West Coast have been highways rather than barriers. Even today, one of the best ways to experience Oban & Lorn is from the water, and a cruise with St Hilda Sea Adventures is sure to be the adventure of a lifetime. And for a limited time, you can get a up to a 20% Family Discount for families!

A family run business, the team offers accommodation for multi day cruises on two beautiful vessels. St Hilda is an ex-tall ship, built in 1973 specifically for sail training with a crew of 20. She has recently been converted to provide accommodation for up to six passengers and feels very spacious and comfortable.  Youngsters and adults love to help work the sails and guests have the use of our inflatable sea kayak, providing an exhilarating experience on the open sea as we explore the spectacular island scenery and exciting wildlife.

St Hilda's accommodation consists of a spacious double en-suite and the price for that cabin is £260 per person per night; a twin en-suite (toilet and wash-basin) which is £225 per person per night; and a twin cabin in the forepeak (wash-basin), each berth is £160 per night. The two twin cabins are close to the shared toilet and shower rooms, which are of a high standard for a yacht.

You will find here the accommodation layout here:

Seahorse II (82 feet long and a beamy 23 feet), our proud new small ship, was built to the highest standard for the Norwegian fjords and life in the high northern latitudes. A 10mm Swedish steel hull, air conditioned and heated throughout, and winter sailing for the British Royal Navy for months at a time in the western approaches means that our wee cruise ship is more than enough for our summer adventures in the Gulf Stream warmed waters of the West Coast of Scotland.

The ship is powerful enough to cruise the many spectacular islands and lochs of Scotland’s West Coast, yet small enough to anchor in remote and hauntingly beautiful places that the larger passenger ships are unable to visit.

On the spacious aft deck (ideal for alfresco dining) we have a powerful little crane for launching our two dinghies, sea kayaks and paddleboard. There is also plenty of room for your own wind and kite surfers, bicycles, diving gear, sailing dinghies and anything else you need for a great sea adventure. A bridge full of the best navigational aids, a high foredeck for wildlife spotting and a boat deck for lounging, she is the perfect vessel for your life afloat.

Seahorse II’s accommodation consists of three single cabins and two twin cabins, all temperature controlled and with a washbasin. The price per person per night is £225. There are also two luxurious double/twin cabins en-suite. The price per person per night is £290.

You will find here the accommodation layout here:

Both vessels can be booked for private charter for a maximum of six passengers on St Hilda and 11 passengers on Seahorse II. They provide a unique holiday for all ages. Each day is packed with activities, from learning the basics of seamanship to fishing and swimming or going for wonderful walks on the Hebridean coast. But you can also choose to just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and extraordinary wildlife from the vessel’s deck.

We also have NEW special cruises with photography tutors, art tutors and wildlife guides onboard. One of our cruises (Malt Whisky and Scottish Wildlife cruise) includes a whisky tour on Islay.

Prices include all meals, fruit, coffee break, afternoon tea, pre-dinner aperitif and wine with dinner and the services of your crew.
