CAR PARKING CHARGES
Oban is well served with car parks, however, there are no FREE car parks. Look out for signs as you enter the town. For those travelling by ferry, and wanting to leave their car on the mainland there is a pay and display beside the CalMac terminal, which is the actual car park for the railway station, which is ideal for day trips @ £3.00 but there are limited spaces. Likewise, the Rockfield Centre offers private parking at a fixed daily rate of £5.00 per day. The council car parks start at £1.00 per hour and with the exception of Sundays* where charges are applicable only between 1pm and 6pm, charges apply throughout the day. Find out more about area council parks and prices here.
Argyll & Bute Council offers long term car park permits on a weekly or monthly basis. You can choose from more than a dozen council car parks around Oban and Mull. Starting at £30 per week and £60 per month for off street parking, permits can be purchased online here. You can also pay for your parking charges online and/or using your mobile phone and payment card with the PaySmarti cashless parking system
You can also park your car in the main streets of the town. The maximum total stay time is 2 hours in the inner zone and 4 hours in the outer zone in any one spot with the exception of Gallanach and Ganavan Road - which are both full day parking. Ticket machines are placed within easy reach. On street parking is free beyond the inner zone. Inner zone car streets are: Argyll Square, Queens Park Place, William Street, Corran Esplanade and George Street.
