Oban is well served with car parks, however, there are no FREE car parks*. Look out for signs as you enter the town. For those travelling by ferry, and wanting to leave their car on the mainland there is a pay and display beside the CalMac terminal, which is the actual car park for the railway station, which is ideal for day trips @ £3.00 but there are limited spaces. Likewise, the Rockfield Centre offers private parking at a fixed daily rate of £5.00 per day. The council car parks charge £1.00 per hour and with the exception of Sundays* where charges are applicable only between 1pm and 6pm, charges apply throughout the day.

Unfortunately there are no longer any free long term car parks but the council do allow overpayment at Longsdale and Lochavullin. If you are travelling to the islands and you are leaving your car then please make alternative arrangements to park away from the town centre or use a private parking service such as Stoddarts or MacQueens who both offer secure long term car parking.

You can also park your car in the main streets of the town. The fee is 80p per 40 minutes and the first 30 minutes is free. The maximum total stay time is 2 hours in the inner zone and 4 hours in the outer zone in any one spot with the exception of Gallanach and Ganavan Road - which are both full day parking. Ticket machines are placed within easy reach. On street parking is free beyond the inner zone. Inner zone car streets are: Argyll Square, Queens Park Place, William Street, Corran Esplanade and George Street.
