Welcome to Oban - the Seafood Capital of Scotland!

If you are planning a visit to Oban and Lorn on Scotland's west coast, this is the site for you. The Oban & Lorn Tourism Alliance Ltd has put together information on the scenery, landscapes and seascapes and the numerous activities that can be enjoyed in the ancient district of Lorn in the historic country of Argyll.

There are also accommodation lists for hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs and self catering properties in and around Oban as well as a wealth of information on places to eat, attractions and local shops and services. Now in its 8th year, the award winning Oban Winter Festival has grown to accommodate an extensive programme of events aimed at people of all ages. It is a ten day celebration of Oban's unique culture and community with street parades, reindeer, international and local performing acts, fire art, pipers, lantern parades and family fun.

Held 16 to 25 November, the town will get frosty with loads of activities, films and light shows to celebrate the fluffy white season that carries the year to a close. There's even a chance Santa might stop by, when he gets a break from all that present preparation!

The theme for this year’s festival in the Year of Young People is "Shape the Future", and once again the extended programme will include St Andrew’s Day events. In celebration of this important national date, a Scottish Food & Craft Market, Haggis Festival, Whisky Festival, clootie dumpling competition,  ceilidh, and a Tartan Dash will also form part of the festivities.

Festival action takes place mainly in the centre of town and getting from place to place is very easy. Discover the great shopping, bars and restaurants that make this town tick, take a tour of the local distillery and sample local malts, or enjoy a relaxing coffee in one of our many cafes while soaking up the beautiful view of the bay.

We look forward to welcoming you for the Oban Winter Festival! For more information visit http://obanwinterfestival.com
