Ganavan & Wee Ganavan Sands

Just two miles north of Oban, Ganavan Sands is a favourite coastal escape where soft white sands meet wide, open views across the islands of Mull, Lismore and Morvern. With easy access from town and a relaxed, welcoming feel, it’s the perfect place to slow down—whether you’re paddling in clear waters, enjoying a family picnic, or setting out along the scenic coastal paths towards Dunbeg and Dunstaffnage. Popular with locals yet spacious enough to find your own quiet spot, Ganavan offers a true taste of Scotland’s west coast at its most accessible and beautiful.

Just down the road from the main beach, Wee Ganavan beach is the perfect spot for a fun family morning or afternoon. There are plenty of things to do when visiting Wee Ganavan beach, one of the closest beaches to the Centre of Oban town. It is a fine example of a west coast beach with views across the Inner Hebrides.
