How to play the Bones

The Dutchman, Hans Weehuizens workshop on How To Play The Bones offers the chance to learn one of the oldest rhythmic instruments. A favourite of whalermen who used whalebone, nowadays hardwoods offer a more musical (and ethical) alternative. Youll learn how to hold the bones and to play different rhythms to accompany songs and shanties. Hans will supply all participants (maximum 15) with all you will need to the rhythm section of any shanty crew.
