Kinlochlaich Walled Garden, Woodland Walk and Garden Centre

Octagonal walled garden, garden plant nursery

Just plants, and plenty of rare and unusual ones to inspire every gardener

Set within and around the historic Kinlochlaich Walled Garden, laid out around 1790 by John Campbell of Lochend, the gardens offer a rich blend of history and horticulture. The unique octagonal walled garden features a harmonious mix of formal and informal plantings, alongside a Spring Garden, Bluebell Woodland Walk, and productive vegetable and fruit plots.

The site is also home to the renowned Garden Plant Centre, established in 1976. Over the years it has grown into one of Scotland’s largest and most diverse plant centres, with an ever-expanding collection of rare and unusual varieties. Many of the plants are trialled in the gardens themselves, allowing visitors to see their true character, colour, and mature growth in situ.

This is very much a traditional nursery garden centre, immersed in extensive and evolving gardens. There are no cafés or gift shops—just a deep passion for plants, and an exceptional range to discover.
