You will be in the capable hands of Robert Black. Rab was born in Glen Creran and attended Appin Primary, Oban High and Manchester Metropolitan University. Rab has had a varied military career which includes Training Warrant Officer at the Physical Training Wing at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Chief Instructor of the Joint School of Adventurous Training Instructors in Llanrwst, North Wales. More recently, he was responsible for the Physical Development of all Army units from the Midlands north, including Scotland and Northern Ireland. Rab then moved to Canada as the Officer Commanding Trails End Camp delivering the British Army outdoor programme in the Rockies, Alberta. In his final military appointment, he established a new Army Outdoor Centre in Cameron Barracks, Inverness.
Rab is a keen skier and mountaineer who has led and participated in a wide variety of expeditions around the world. His second attempt on Mount Everest was thwarted by the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal in 2015.
