Oban Hogmanay

Oban and Lorn's pubs, bars and hotels will offer a range of music and entertainment over Hogmanay (New Year's Eve). Some will be traditional with a good old fashioned Ceilidh, others will feature local music from folk to rock. Most town centre pubs will have a late licence to 3am but please note some operate a late night curfew with no admissions after midnight. Further afield there are plenty of rural pubs and hotels offering Hogmanay parties - The Barn Bar at Cologin has a 3am license, welcomes pets and has a few quirky Hogmanay traditions all of its own. Organised public celebrations in the town centre tend to be bi-annual. However, even without there are always plenty of folk out celebrating in the streets and the local ferries and boats always bring in the New Year with a fanfare of fog horns which creates a unique atmosphere. 

Hogmanay 2018 Events

Hogmanay is Scotland’s biggest festive celebration, so welcome in 2019 Highland style at one of Oban’s high stepping ceilidhs, where you can twirl and leap into the New Year to live music from the area’s top bands.
