Jul 12, 2018

When you visit Oban and Lorn, you are assured of a warm welcome anywhere you go- after all, you’ll find our famous Highland hospitality wherever you choose to lay your head! However, Brander Lodge is particularly renowned for its friendly atmosphere, and its small, yet wonderful team makes every guest feel like part of the family.

Top 100 Scottish Hotels for the Prestige Awards has recognised the family run Brander Lodge with their 2018 Award for Best Front of House Team. The Prestige Hotel Awards were created to showcase and reward outstanding service within Scotland’s hotel industry. Voted for by the public, this independent, non-political platform is free to take part with no membership fee.

Front of House refers to many aspects of the business, from reception to housekeeping to service and dining- basically, all the nice folks who make sure you enjoy your stay.

After being voted into the Top 100, an assessor then visited and graded the hotel on an overnight and dining experience. Owner David Keat is thrilled that his team has been singled out among all the hotels in Scotland. He and his daughter, Emma, the hotel’s financial controller, attended a glittering ceremony in Glasgow to receive their award.

“I am delighted that our customers voted us into this Award and enabled the Brander Lodge Hotel to get in the Top 100 Scottish Hotels for the Prestige Awards,” David said. “To have our name called out for an award was exciting, and to tell the truth I was amazed and delighted at the same time. Being family owned and operated, our small team here are like an extension to the family and we are very proud to have them.”

After its recent renovation, Brander Lodge has only enhanced its reputation as the jewel of Taynuilt. Set amongst mountain views and lovely gardens, it’s a favourite for locals who enjoy the dining options, as well as couples who love having a single wedding destination for everything from the service to the reception to accommodation for the entire party. Brander is also an ideal base for couples, families or groups of friends to explore Oban and Lorn, with Oban and other spots of scenic and historic interest just down the road.
