Worship


The following places of worship can be found in and around Oban. Some churches have their own website - just click on the church title to visit their site.

The Esplanade Church

The Church of Scotland's Esplanade Church is, not unsurprisingly, located on Oban's Esplanade. Opened in 1957, this church building is the most modern in the area.
Morning worship at 10:00 am every Sunday.
The church is wheelchair accessible, has a loop system, large print hymn books and orders of service.


St Columba's Cathedral

St Columba's Roman Catholic Cathedral is located on the Esplanade. Built in the 1930s, it is Oban's biggest ecclesiastical building.
Mass is celebrated each weekday at 10.00am, on Saturdays at 7.00pm and on Sundays at 10.30am.


The Parish Church

The Church of Scotland's Parish Church is situated on Glencruitten Road. It is wheelchair accessible and is equipped with a sound system. Also provides large-print hymn books.
Morning worship at 11.30am every Sunday.


St John's Episcopal Cathedral

St John's Episcopal Cathedral is Oban's second Cathedral, located in George Street. The Scottish Episcopal Church is part of the Anglican Communion.
There is a Said Communion at 8.00am and a Sung Eucharist at 10.15am every Sunday, and a Said Communion at 11.00am on Wednesdays.


Oban Congregational Church

Oban Congregational Church was founded in 1805. The current building is located in Tweedale Street.
Sunday Worship is at 11.00am


Oban Baptist Church

Oban Baptist Church is at the top of Albany Street close to the town centre.
Sunday Worship is at 11.00am and 6.30pm


Campbell Street Church

Campbell Street Church, located in Campbell Street, is affiliated to the Associated Presbyterian Church.
Sunday morning worship is at 11.00am


Oban Free High Church

Oban Free High Church looks over the town centre from its Rockfield Road location on Oban hill.
Sunday worship is at 11.00am and 6.30pm


The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army arrived in Oban in 1983. A couple of years later they purchased a hall in Stevenson Street.

Kilmore Church

The Church of Scotland's Kilmore Church is a small, simple country kirk. It was erected in 1875.
Worship at 6pm every 1st Sunday of the month. Large print hymn books & orders of service are available.
