Oban's Festival of the Sea - 26th - 29th May 2016

Festival of the SeaOur climate, geography, heritage and employment are defined by the sea that surrounds Oban and Lorn and each year Oban celebrates this natural asset.

This year's Festival of the Sea celebrates the the food we gain from the marine environment and the science behind our seafood.

The Festival of the Sea is a community event organised by world-renowned science centre, The Scottish Association of Marine Science. The events this year will be based at the Rockfield Centre in the heart of Oban.

The core event will be a market weekend with cooking demonstrations, music, seafood and craft stalls. We also offer a timetable of events such as talks, author readings, workshops and craft activities. And back by popular demand are trips aboard a Coastal Connections boat to the experimental seaweed farm in the Sound of Kerrera to explore this potential new industry.
